Description:
***SOLD*** Savage Model 99RS .250-3000 Savage lever action rifle dated to 1933, s/n 343XXX. This Model 99 falls into the Pre-War era, with its' 1933 manufacture date. This rifle features a fine cut checkered walnut stock and forend, with a rich blued finish on the receiver and barrel, in addition to a color-case hardened lever, and flet-bottomed sling studs with sling loops installed. The rifle is fitted with a Lyman tang sight with windage and elevation adustment, in addition to a Lyman front sight, a factory flip-up rear sight with two sight leaves, and two scope mounting blocks mounted directly to the barrel. The rifle is in great working order, with a smooth lever action mechanism, a bright bore, and light, crisp trigger pull. The rifle shows signs of normal/regular use and age, however it appears to have been well cared for over the years. Some small areas of finish loss can be seen in areas of the wood finish, as well as in areas of the receiver, where it may have been carried through the woods. The forend has a small repaired area on the right side, as well as a very small hairline crack by the receiver, as shown in the photos. Please refer to the photos to further assess the condition of the rifle. A beautiful old hunting rifle with lots of character, ready for years of service! C&R OK.
