This is a Husqvarna Swedish made (Lathi) M40 pistol chambered in 9mm Luger. 4.5 inch barrel. This pistol has a "D" prefix serial number which denotes it as being part of an order of 10,000 pistols for the Danish police forces. The order was made in 1946 and the pistols were delivered in 1947 so that dates this pistol to sometime within those 2 years.
