A Savage model 99F in 308 Win.Built in 1957,this rifle combines the old style features of the earlier 99s with the more modern additions of the later 99 rifles.The old style features of this rifle are the brass shell counter,the lever safety,the hand checkered stock,the steel buttplate,the cocking indicator,and factory drilled and tapped for a tang sight.The modern features are factory drilled and tapped for Weaver scope bases,a flip up rear sight, a jeweled bolt,and a modern caliber.This configuration was only built for around 3 years and is very hard to find with this combination of features.This rifle is in excellent all original condition.It retains 98%+ of the original blue and 100% of the original wood finish.The 22" barrel has a mint bore and the lever retains 95% of the original case colors.The wood is sound with no cracks or damage. This is a classic 99 in a great caliber and super condition.C&R eligible
