RARE BELGIAN TERSSEN MODEL 1777 / 1868 TRAPDOOR 11.5X50R BELGIAN CAL. INFANTRY RIFLE. Early developmental breech loading trapdoor rifle of the years between the American Civil War and the Franco-Prussian War. Successor to the Albini-Braendlin of 1867 and using the same cartridge. Very scarce and only made for two years. Complete and with all the correct parts including recycled minor parts from earlier Belgian muskets. All correct matching serial and assembly numbers. Excellent plus condition and certainly one of the finest examples known. Finished bright with very crisp handling patina (never cleaned). Stock equally as nice with the original finish and with copious Ordnance Inspector stamps. Perfect working order and mint bore.
