BRILLIANT NEAR MINT CIVIL WAR SMITH PERCUSSION U.S. CAVALRY CARBINE. 22” .50 cal. barrel. All original and matching in the early 38xx four digit serial range. Frame stamped “ADDRESS/POULTNEY & TRIMBLE/BALTIMORE U.S.A.” and “SMITH’S PATENT/JUNE 23, 1857”. Nicest one we have had with 99% of the original bright blue and color case hardening. Even has all the blue on the screws. Wood with all the original finish with a few minor dings. Mint U.S. Ordnance Inspector’s cartouche (JH) and all the correct sub-inspector’s stamps. Perfect working order and mint bore which is probably unfired.
