Description:
We have only had a handful of these in this chambering, now sought after by collectors and hunters alike. Handsome pre 64. Most were produced in .308, fewer in 243 and very few in 284 (exact produciton #s unknown) This fine example was made in the last yr of pre 64 production in 1963 with handsome factory hand checkering unlike the post 64 rifles which had the less attractive pressed oak leaf designe . All blued surfaces are well over 90% and possibly 95% Cond. Wood has some handling marks; compression and light scratches consitent with a rifle that has been used for hunting but well cared for; we are calling the wood 85%, there are no non factory holes, no cracks no splits or meaningful loss of finish.
Scope filler screws missing easily replaced, factory screws left side of receiver where a receiver sight would be used are a little rough (screws..not the receiver). Still has front sight hood !!!!!
