Description:
The accompanying Colt factory letter confirms that this Theodore Roosevelt Commemorative SAA was produced by the Colt Custom Shop for Gary W. French, president of the Colt Company from 1981 to 1989. The unique serial number incorporates Mr. French's initial, followed by "PE" signifying President's Edition. The letter also confirms the caliber, barrel length, slanted Hartford address amrking on top of the barrel, three line patent marking on the left side of the frame, royal blue finish with casehardened blackpowder frame, monogram "TR" auroplated in gold on top of the back strap, and smooth grip. The letter states that the 4 1/4" wedge of scrollwork on the barrel and the scrollwok on the cylinder flats with a bandengraving on the rear of the cylinfer is a Class B engraving.
