Description:
One of a few premier custom gunmakers, Griffin & Howe has been around a long time and has turned out some of the finest custom rifles made in the U.S. this one is a 270 Win with their quick detachable scope mount with same era 4X weaver and back-up peep that is missing the slide. LOP over the leather covered pad is 13 5/8”. Wrap around checkering on the forearm and a black forend tip. G&H’s distinct cheekpiece for a right hand shooter. Jeweled bolt and checkered bolt knob. G&H changed the floor plate to what appears to be a Springfield. The 721 dates to 1950, so I have to assume G&H made it in the 50’s before the model 700 came out in the early 60’s. The G&H serial number is 2079.
Overall-in super condition. C&R ok.
