Description:
This Eddystone Pattern 1914 rifle was produced at the Remington plant at Eddystone to fill the British contract for the Pattern 1914 rifle. The rifle's serial number is 28526. This rifle is chambered for the British 303 service round. The receiver ring is marked ERA with the serial number. ERA stands for Eddystone Remington Armory. This rifle is all matched serial numbers. The magazine holds 5 shells. On the left side of the stock is fitted a volley fire adjustable front sight on a disk to set range. The rear sight is attached to the bolt stop assembly. The sight can be flipped up by rotating the sight base. This rifle is in new condition showing no sign of ever being used. The original bluing is very strong. There is no blue loss or fading. The stock is in very fine unused condition. The right side of the stock by the disk is marked IE in a circle and below that is stamped Pattern14 with the EY below that. The stock and hand guards have all of the original finish intact. The original pull through cleaning kit is in the trap door at the butt plate. The sling is marked H.G.R. 1916. The bore is minty and bright. This rifle was part of the author, Charles W. Clawson's personal collection. I have a letter of provinance from him stating that it was from his personal collection. This is a wonderful condition Eddystone pattern 1914 with a letter from a well known author on firearms stating that this gun was from his collection. This brings this rifle above the rest of these guns for condition and background! Search for hlvfineguns on google for more details.
