Description:
An extremely rare Savage model 1899 "Crescent"grade rifle in 303 Savage.Built in 1903,this rifle is in excellent all original condition.It has a 26" octagon barrel with a mint bore.The receiver is fully engraved with deep cut scroll engraving surrounding game scenes featuring whitetail deer.The stock and forend are highly figured walnut and are finely checkered and carved.The gun is no safe queen,it has been hunted with but well cared for.The rifle retains 95% of the original blue with most of the wear at the balance point on the bottom of the receiver.The wood retains 95%of the original finish and is free of any cracks or damage other than a few light handling marks.The lever retains 50% of the original case colors and works flawlessly.The rifle has the original front and rear sights and a Lyman all purpose peep sight with disc.This is an all original factory engraved 1899 that would make a fine addition to any collection and would be a fun rifle to shoot.I would consider partial trades for quality shotguns or rifles.C&R eligible.
