Description: DESCRIPTION: Colt Single Action Army 6-shot revolver in caliber 45 Colt. Artillery Model having the mixed numbers due to the Colt factory refurbishing hundreds of SAA without regard to matching the parts after the refurb process. Has the "US" stamp next to the 2-line patent dates on the left side of the frame. Barrel is number 8696 and has the slanted Italic Hartford address. Frame is number 18422 from 1875. Trigger guard is number 61936 from 1880. Bottom of grip shows number 81993 from 1882. Cylinder is partial number 2934 with the "DFC" inspector mark of David F. Clark. Loading gate is number 291. 5 1/2" barrel typical of the artillery models with the correct ejector housing and rod assembly with early style "bullseye" ejector head. Standard walnut grips and blued finish. CONDITION: All metal surfaces are a dark plum patina with scattered nicks, scratches and few spots of light surface oxidation. Patent dates and markings are clear except for the number on the bottom of the grip, which is slightly worn. Original walnut grips have nicks and dings, slight loss at toe due to wear, but otherwise tight and never cleaned/sanded/refinished. Bore is excellent. Superb action that is extremely tight and has all 4 very positive/sharp clicks. Minimal side to side and front to rear wobble of cylinder. Excellent screw heads. "EGP" scribed into bottom grip strap and left underside of barrel. Grades NRA Antique Very Good and a nice SAA Artillery to add to your Colt collection. TERMS: No international sales.
