Description:
This Winchester was produced around Feb. of 1944. The carbine's serial number is 5593264. The barrel is correctly marked with the "W" and proof mark. It has the flat blued bolt. The push button safety is "EW" coded. The straight hammer has the W Code with the seldom seen S on the other side of the hammer. The magazine is also coded for Winchester. The barrel bore and chamber is in near mint condition. The original finish is fully intact on all of the original parts. All of these parts and stock are correctly coded for Winchester for this serial range and time frame. The high wood oval cut stock is in very fine condition. The stock and handguard retain all of the original finish. The butt plate is also Winchester. The two rivit handguard is W coded. The sling is an unmarked World War 2 sling. The oiler is Winchester Coded. The front and rear flip sight are correct Winchester sights. This carbine has never been messed with or restored. It is in it's original factory as produced condition. These original carbines are getting very difficult to find today. To have a Winchester in this fine of condition is a real find for the collector to have in their collection!
