This Mauser rifle was produced in 1940. The rifle's serial number is 7251W. This rifle is all matched serial numbered on all parts, receiver and bolt. The bore is very fine with sharp lands. The cleaning rod is intact on this rifle. This Mauser has all milled parts that are serial numbered to this gun. This rifle has not been "Duffle Bag Cut". The original laminated handguard is serial numbered to the rifle. The barrel band spring is also serial numbered to this rifle. The original bluing is in very fine condition. There is little loss or fading of the bluing. The original bluing would rate a strong 95% and better. The original laminated stock is in very fine condition.This stock has no damage or cracks. This stock is in about 96% overall condition. It has all of the correct Waffenamt markings and serial number. The butt plate is also serial numbered. This is a high quality collectors grade K 98 rifle. Early Military issued rifles had a poor survival rate in original as issued condition. The Second World War was very hard on these early rifles especially when the war went against Germany and her retreat. To find a very fine early K 98 such as this rifle is a real find today!
