This rifle was produced in 1943. The rifle's serial number is 991Q. This rifle is all matched serial numbers. It has a very fine bore with sharp lands. The original sight hood is intact. It also has the original cleaning rod intact. This was the first year for Waffen Werke Brunn to produce K 98 rifles. This rifle has the correct stamped and welded parts that were becoming standard by 1943 to speed up production of these rifles. The rifle and parts have their original bluing intact. There is very little blue loss or fading. The original bluing would rate a strong 96% overall condition. The stock has the correct dot stamp in front of the stock below the pistol grip. The laminated stock has no damage or wood loss. This stock is in very fine condition. The stock would rate a 97% and better condition. This rifle has seen very little service wear or use. It has all of the correct Waffenamt stamps on the parts and receiver. This is a high condition K 98 Rifle from the first year of the dot coded production. This rifle would be a great addition to a Mauser K 98 Military collection! Search for hlvfineguns on google for more details.
