Description:
UNDERWOOD M1 CARBINE - 100% Correct
PREFACE:  The M1 Carbines I sell are not just for shooting, although they can do that too.  I have totally disassembled each rifle to check parts authenticity and integrity.  I take over 100 photos of each rifle if you want a closer look.  When I say 100% CORRECT it means that all the parts are the same as that particular manufacturers production block left the factory with; not necessarily the exact same part, but an identical replacement.  A field grade M1 Carbine is neat to have, but if you want a collector grade rifle such as mine, they cost more.  Check for yourself what USGI original used replacement parts cost today.  A premium stock set can cost $595, Type II Barrel Band $345.  NOT CHEAP !

The M1 Carbine I have for sale here is one of many I currently have for sale.  Underwood was the third largest producer of M1 Carbines in WWII, and made 545,616 of the M1 Carbine onlyfrom 10 of '42 through 4 of '44.  Being Serial Number 1358505 makes it the 8,505 rifle Underwood produced in December 1942.  My Underwood M1 Carbine has only the original proof stamps on the barrel and receiver; NO ARMORER STAMPINGS ANYWHERE.  The barrel, receiver, and all non-wearing parts are consistent in their condition and coloration.  From the barrel crown to the buttplate I have totally disassemble every component to insure all the parts are 100% correct for the manufacturer (Underwood Elliot Fisher), production date, serial number, and part type as verified primarily using Roger Larson's Book "M1 Carbine Comprehensive Guide".  There are no reproduction parts on this rifle other than the Olive Drab Sling, Kahki Carry Case, and Manual.  All of the springs, pins, and small parts not producer stamped were identified as correct using Roger Larson's book also.
