Antique BELGIAN 16 Gauge PINFIRE Side x Side Double Barrel HAMMER Shotgun
Nicely ENGRAVED 16 Gauge HAMMER GUN!
Here we present a Belgian made Pinfire Side by Side Hammer Shotgun, manufactured circa the 1850s in Belgium.
This shotgun is nicely engraved with checkered stocks. The pinfire cartridge was invented by Casimir Lefaucheux in 1836 and is considered to be the first self-contained firearm cartridge. It enjoyed a relatively long life compared to other cartridges developed only a few years later.
The overall condition is near fine. The action is strong and tight. The bores are shiny and smooth. Great Damascus pattern.
