Description:
This model 1866 rifle recently became available from a large estate sale that took place on the East Coast. The former owner had amassed a great selection of Winchester rifles and took meticulous care in the storage and handling of them as evidenced by their presentation. At some point in time, we believe that the stock on this gun was probably reworked or replaced and refinished. The work was done in a professional manner and the stock and forearm are in excellent condition. There are no cracks or scratches and only a few small dings and handling marks on the stock and forearm. Bore is very clean and bright. The barrel has aged to a grey patina with light freckling and is void of any pitting. The action on the works perfectly and locks tight. The pictures tell the story. This is a beautiful show piece in fantastic condition.
