Description:
#4841 Colt 1849 Pocket Model, 5”x31 caliber, 293XXX (mfg 1862). This is a really decent little revolver made in the beginnings of the Civil War and was very likely carried into that War as a “second defense” personal handgun. It has VG+ metal with liberal traces of soft blue mixing with an overall thin surface patina on the blued parts as well as a soft patina grey-brown on the frame. The cylinder appears to have about 90% strong scene, but due to the thin patina it might difficult to see in the photos. Numbers all match including the wedge, mechanics are crisp, bore is dirty but looks like it will easily clean to about Fine, and grips are also about Fine with 50%+ original varnish remaining. Nothing great, but certainly well above of what the average is for a Pocket Model in this overall condition and price range. VG++ $795
