Payment Types Accepted: Visa,Master Card, Discover,Check Description: This is a very nice all-original .58 caliber 1853 Pattern Enfield made by the R.T. Pritchett firm in London, England. This Civil War period rifled-musket is straight "out of the woodwork" where it has resided for more than 150 years with one family, never having been on the collector's market before. While these London-made Enfield's served on both sides of the Civil War, they are often associated with serving the Confederacy due to the South's reliance on imported weapons. Many of these Pritchett Enfields narrowly made it here to the United States on Confederate blockade runners, with many more residing at the bottom of the ocean after being sunk by Union gun boats manning the blockade. Regardless of whether this 1853 Pattern served with the Union or Confederacy, it is an amazing original piece of history. This Pritchett Musket is in very good condition overall, with a beautiful stock and excellent bore. It is 100% functional with excellent mechanics, and most importantly has NOT been altered, molested, or "improved" in any way whatsoever. It is exactly how it left the London factory.
