Winchester Model 1873 Saddle Ring Carbine .44-40 caliber carbine. Manufactured 1890. Bore has good rifling and light corrosion in the grooves. The action works smoothly. The receiver has a very good, period correct, Winchester dust cover! It rides the rail well (not loose and wobbly). The metal parts have a gray patina and was probably “cleaned” in the past. Barrel address and .44 caliber marking are all legible and clear. The stock has been varnished later on. The stocks are very good. Left-side of butt stock has a professional small repair on the wrist, next to the upper tang.
