Description:
This is a replica of the Remington 58 caliber Zouave 1863 rifle. These were copies of the 1853 Enfield two band rifle, but with brass mountings. It has a patch box for a spare nipple and cleaning supplies. The leaf sights are for 100, 200 and 300 yards.The front sight has been replaced probably because a peep hole has been drilled in the 200 yard leaf and may have been drilled to high. The blue is in very good condition and the case colors on the lock are strong. The wood shows some wear and dings. The gun was made in 1974 for SILE of NY by Ranson Italia. The bore is very good with the proper 3 grove rifling. It has sling loops. This is a black powder gun and no paperwork is required.
