Description:
Nice rifle in the scarce Pre War style and .220 Swift caliber. S/N 24*** with matching scribed bolt made in 1940. 98% Blue on barreled action, bottom metal between 90-95%. Wood retains at least 95% finish but has multiple light handling marks most notably under fore-end and some light but sharp longitudinal scratches or drag marks. There is a factory inlet for a Lyman 48WH receiver sight which is no longer present. It has a medium heavy 26" stainless target barrel with mirror bore and no evidence of throat erosion or other issues. The factory scope blocks remain in place on the barrel while the scope base on front receiver ring appears to be an Unertl style. Rear receiver bridge is undrilled! Mechanical function is excellent. Overall, a very nice and infrequently encountered target rifle that has fared pretty well for its nearly 80 years of service!
