Payment Types Accepted: Visa,Master Card, Discover,Check Description: P85 was developed in 1985 and is the first of the P-Series pistols from Ruger. It was only available with a DA/SA trigger, decocker, and a manual safety. It is a short recoil operated, locked breech semi-automatic pistol. Using a SIG type locking system, and an 1911-style tilting barrel. Standard models have an ambidextrous manual safety/decocker located on the slide. The decocker models have no manual safety; instead, when the lever is lowered, it only cams the firing pin into the slide and drops the hammer. When the lever is released, the firing pin springs back to the normal position. The DAO models have no manual safety or decocker and all models feature an automatic firing pin safety that blocks the firing pin unless the trigger is pulled fully rearward. The P85 uses a steel slide with an investment-cast alloy frame. Due to a recall in 1987 all P85's had a modified decocker/safety intalled and were remarked as the P85 MK2R. This example has the recall modified decocker/safety and comes with one magazine. It has patina on the slide and wear on the high points. It is in mechanically perfect working condition with strong rifling and a bright bore. These pistols have a reputation for being very durable and make excellent, reliable shooters.
