Description:
Colt US Army Model 1917 .45ACP US service revolver, with a 51XXX serial number. This revolver features a blued solid steel frame with smooth walnut grip panels, a lanyard loop, and both a double and single action hammer fired mechanism. The cylinder is designed to accept issued moon clips for easy loading and ejecting. The revolver is in great working order with tight solid timing and lockup, with some signs of age and use, with some mild dullness in the bore and areas of the chambers, as shown. The rifling is still strong and visible. Some areas of finish wear and evidence of removed surface rust can be seen on areas of the frame and barrel, however most of the original blue finish is present. The right side grip panel has a small split towards the bottom, but remains strudy and solid. Please refer to the photos to further assess the condition of the pistol. A wonderful addition to a WWI or US small arms collection, and would make for a fun historic shooter! No handgun sales in MA. C&R OK.
