Description:
Ethan Allen, Worcester, Massachusetts Vest Pocket derringer, .22 caliber, serial number 26751, 2" barrel. This little derringer - measuring 4-inches overall - is a standard model marked "E. Allen & Co. Makers" on the top barrel flat. It is mechanically fine with full cock and half cock completely functional. The bore is fair. The light colored walnut grips are intact and retain some original varnish. (There is a small hole in the bottom of the left grip where a locating pin has knocked out some of the wood.) The gun shows no abuse, just period wear. Made between 1869 and 1871.
Condition: barrel is a medium gray steel color, brass frame has a nicely aged patina, metal surfaces are smooth and unpitted.
