Description:
Extremely rare Merwin & Hulbert .22 caliber revolver undoubtedly made by O.S. Cummings in Massachusetts, serial number M18. Very few of these antique revolvers have surfaced - the quantity made is probably under 100. Condition: The markings are sharp & clear; full nickel finish: barrel 95%, frame 95%, cylinder 65%. The cylinder stop locks up fine upon full-cock but on full down it does not hold and the cylinder turns. Grips have dents and dings and about 70% varnish, the hammer has faded case colors. The bore is typical of old 22s - rifling visible but with dark patches. It could use a good cleaning.
