Description:
Antique Thermoplastic Union Case 9th plate, Paul Berg #3-307 Geometric (Y1043/L362).

This Civil War tintype of a young Union Infantryman holding a Colt Model 1849 Pocket revolver is pictured in the book "Colt's Pocket '49 It's Evolution" by Robert M. Jordan and Darrow M. Watt (page 14). Please note that the patriotic matte pictured in the book was exchanged for the current matte sometime before the image came into my possession. The image is in wonderful condition and the profound expression on the soldier's face speaks volumes. The dark brown case is in virtually unused condition with no cracks and two tiny edge chips. Great hinges. The clasp clicks but will not hold securely.

Shipped USPS First Class. Dick Littlefield has been a collector for over 59 years and an antique gun dealer for almost that long. He is co-author of the book Frank Wesson Gunmaker, a major contributor to Flayderman’s Guide and The Blue Book of Antique Gun Values. He has also written a number of articles for Man at Arms Magazine.
