Here we have the original Single barrel trap shotgun, made by the Baker Gun Co. in Batavia NY. This gun was produced in the early 20th century and is in exceptional condition for it's age. This shotgun features a red fiber optic front sight and brass bear rear sight on a matte vent rib, choked full, 2-3/4 inch chambered with an extractor. The receiver, trigger guard and break lever are scroll engraved with game scene on the receiver. Both sides of the receiver are marked "BAKER GUN CO." The forearm and straight grip stock are checkered with a red rubber recoil pad. The barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .725 inch; wall thickness at 9 inches from breech .1125 inch; drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 1 1/2 inches; length of pull 14 5/8 inches.This shotgun has an excellent finish on the barrel aged to a nice deep gray patina. It has a bright bore. The action finish is also very good with only the smallest of a mark on the right side. The checkering is still sharp and the pistol grip has a metal cap. Wood fit is very good as well with no shrinkage or swelling. No rust on this fine gun! The only noticable marks on the wood is a small ding on the right side forend that is shallow. This gun appears to wear it's original finish, the checkering is still sharp. Finding an original Baker in this great condition is becoming exceedingly rare. Dont' miss this one!
Blued boxlock action with scroll engraving around game scenes featuring 2 woodcock on right and setter on left. Selective ejector. Forearm & capped pistol grip stock of fancy black walnut with hand checkering. LOP: 14 5/8" over DAC: 1 1/2". DAH:1 3/4". Weight: 7 lbs,15 oz. CONDITION: over 90% original blue.
