Gibbs Civil War Carbine. Only 1052 made. This is a very scarce civil war carbine. .52 Caliber. Bore is excellent. Action works perfectly. Early lock plate markings. Serial # 52. The shock shows battle use and has dents, gouges and has a later coat of varnish. Butt plate marked “U.S.” 500 of these carbines were issued to the Tenth Missouri cavalry, and the 13th and 15th New York. We have owned approximately 5 or 6 of these rare carbines in the last 45 years.
