ORIGINAL CASED PAIR FRENCH PERCUSSION DUELLING/TARGET PISTOLS BY FERDINAND CLAUDIN (1835-90) OF PARIS CA. 1850’S. 16” o/a with 10” Liege proofed browned Damascus fluted octagon .45 caliber multi-groove rifled barrels. Adjustable front and fixed rear sights. Beautifully floral engraved French Grey finished locks and mounts, Deluxe floral carved walnut stocks with fluted grips. Both in excellent condition with the original French Grey finish and barrels with brown Damascus and patina mix. Perfect working order and extra nice bright bores. Original French recessed mahogany case with the original green felt lining. Lid lining embossed in gold “FD. CLAUDIN BTE./PARIS”. Original loading accessories including the mold, mallet, combination tool, powder measure and powder and cap boxes. Nice original set. Ferdinand Claudin was one of the best known of the Parisian makers and dealers with his shop at 35 Blvd. des Italiens.
