Description:
Serial #11666 (original #36381), 8 x 50R Siamese, 29" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some minor freckling within the grooves. This rifle has about 85-90% of an armory re-applied blue finish that has some mild silvering at the muzzle and along a few of the high edges and bearing surfaces (mostly on the body of the bolt). The rifle still has the sliding dust cover with small pitted area on the right side rear, and has an electrically engraved Arabic numeral serial number added to the left side of the receiver. The stock and handguard have a dark, added oil finish with numerous handling marks and blemishes throughout the slightly dried out wood. The finger tab on the sliding stock trap cover is still present, but the cleaning rod is missing. These are desirable, Japanese-made Mauser rifles and this example rates very good condition overall.
