Winchester Model 1885 High Wall .40-70 SS caliber rifle. Barrel length is 30” and is a No 3 barrel wight. Caliber is .40-70 SS (Single Shot). Bore has good rifling and light wear in the grooves. Front sight is a German silver blade. Barrel has a blue-brown (mostly brown) patina and is a non-factory refinish. Barrel markings are all very sharp and clear. Trigger is a “hunters trigger”, not a light target trigger. Stocks are very good, no chips or cracks. Stocks have a non-factory varnish applied. Action works perfectly. Rare caliber High Wall.
