Description:
This Winchester 42 is overall very nice. 28" barrel with a mint bore, 3" chamber in FULL. Matching numbers front and rear. Original blue is prob 85%. Wood is overall very good, with one problem.... it was shortened to a 12 1/2" LOP. There is a small patch of roughness in the finish at the top high edge on the left side of the receiver. Visible in picture 3. Seriously, the only real issue is the shortened butt. If you want to give this shotgun to a young man on the learning curve of classic wingshooting, it could be perfect. Buttpad is still soft and usable. In order to protect your investment, all long guns over $500 must be shipped in a hard case. Minimum shipping at this level is $55 and includes the hard case. Shipping cost could increase depending on value or weight of the firearm. For long guns less than $500, we still recommend the purchase of a hard case, again to protect your investment.
