Description:
Auto-Ordnance Thompson 1927A-1 (Model of 1927 A1) Deluxe carbine chambered in .45 ACP, with 16.5-inch barrel and pinned compensator, extending the barrel length to 18 inches.  The frame and barrel are solid steel construction and are blued.  The stock, rear grip, and forward grip are walnut.  Thirteen pounds of steel, wood and bad attitude.  Overall length is 41 inches.  The gun has a fixed blade front sight and adjustable rear sight.  Accessories include one 30-round factory stick magazine and the original violin case.  There are no other accessories.

NOTE:  The violin case is 42x16 inches, which will increase the shipping size and, of course, the shipping cost.

The overall condition of this rifle is very good, 90-95 percent.  The bluing is very good with a few rubs on the receiver, mostly on the corners of the receiver.  One rub on the top of the receiver is through the bluing.  All are visible in the photos.  The barrel is in excellent condition, though most of the bluing gone from the compensator.

There are some deep scratches on the left and right side of the stock, just to the rear of where the stock attaches to the receiver.  There are also some striations on the right side of the stock, just above the strap swivel.  Not sure what that is from; it seems to be in the finish of the wood, as it is smooth to the touch.  There are a few other minor scratches and scuffing on the stock, mostly on the right side.

As the photos show, the exterior of the violin case itself is in very good shape, with a few minor scratches, and the interior wood is in great shape.  The dark smears on the wood are the remnants of the glue applied in the factory to hold the gray egg-crate foam,  which was dry rotted and mostly removed.  It can be easily be replaced.  The case is not a real expensive accessory, but it is original.

The photos are high resolution, so zoom to see details.  Contact me for additional photos of any area you would like to see or see better.

The buyer pays USPS Priority mail ($50) and insurance, if insurance is desired.  I will accept a personal check, but will hold the gun until it clears.  I will also accept a USPS money order which I do not have to hold, as it clears immediately.  I will accept other type money orders, but will hold gun until they clear.    Check or money orders must be made out to Jerry Pownall.
