Documented U.S. " Rinaldo A. Carr",  Inspected Colt Single Action Army Cavalry Revolver with Factory Letter. .45 LC Caliber, with a 7.5" barrel an excellent bright bore.

The accompanying factory letter states the revolver was one of 200 units sold to the U.S. Government and delivered to the U.S. inspector at the Colt factory on March 31, 1891. The letter further states that the revolver was  returned to the factory for refurbishment, and then reshipped to the Commanding Officer at the Springfield Armory on April1, 1903.   The top of the barrel has the one-line Hartford address, the frame has the two-line patent dates marking followed by "U.S."  The  Rinaldo A. The right side of grip has the date "1890" stamped above a script letter cartouche. No cartouche on left side.   Matching serial numbers are on the frame, trigger guard, back strap, and cylinder. The overall condition of this nice revolver is

Excellent, retaining bright original of blue on/around/under the ejector rod housing and faint traces of original case colors, otherwise a mottled brown/gray patina. There are a few scattered patches of pitting. The grip is very good with high edge wear, small chip near the bottom, some dings and faint cartouche.
