Description:
Smith & Wesson Model 53, double-action, .22 LR and .22 Rem Jet revolver, with a 6-inch pinned barrel, checkered walnut grips, service trigger (0.265-inch wide) with grooved face, semi-target hammer (0.375-inch wide spur) with checkered spur, open adjustable rear sight, black ramped front sight, and bright blue finish.  The only accessories are six 22LR rimfire inserts.  There are no box, papers, or other accessories.  The revolver has a three-screw configuration, with one screw (#3) under the stock.  Based on its serial number, the year of manufacture of this gun is 1961.

The overall condition of this gun is 95+ percent.  The metal and bluing are all original, and are in very good condition with just a touch of wear on each side of the muzzle and a little on the high parts of the cylinder, probably holster wear.  On the left side of the frame and just in front of the wood grip there is a small amount of bare metal forming a curved line; it looks like a pair of target grips were used at one time, as the line looks like it was adjacent to such a grip.  There are also a couple small dings on the left side of the barrel about an inch back from the muzzle.  And, of course, there is a light cylinder-lock ring on the cylinder.  All is visible in the photos.  Please excuse the oil smears.

The checkered walnut grips are in excellent condition.  The checkering is deep and crisp with not damage.  The butt has a couple small scratches, and there is a small chip on the bottom of left grip.  As mentioned above, there are no box, papers, or accessories for this gun, except the 22 LR rimfire inserts.

The photos are high resolution, so zoom to see details.  Please excuse the oil smears in the photos.  Contact me for additional photos of any area you would like to see or see better.

The buyer pays USPS Priority mail ($25) and insurance ($11.80), if insurance is desired.  I will accept a personal check, but will hold the gun until it clears.  I will also accept USPS money orders which I do not have to hold, as they clear immediately.  I will accept other type money orders, but will hold gun until they clear.    Check or money orders must be made out to Jerry Pownall.

USPS money orders are limited to $1,000, so two USPS money orders will be required for this purchase.
