Description:
Extremely Scarce Winchester, Model 1892, Smooth Bore SRC; Serial No. 670614; .44 WCF Caliber; 20” Barrel; This 1912 manufactured carbine is not only a factory smoothbore, it is also a factory half-nickel finish SRC, with the desirable saddle ring butterfly markings. Believed to have been made for a Winchester factory sponsored trick shooter, this is a very unique and totally original carbine. The 20” barrel is caliber marked “SMOOTH BORE - .44 W.C.F.”. It has the correct, carbine style, rear flip up, ladder sight and front blade sight. The original wood buttstock has inlaid metal plates with “Winchester” in red letters on each side. Although it is unknown if these plates are factory installed, they appear to be original and not added at a later date. The frame retains nearly all of the original factory nickel. The  butt plate has the majority of its factory nickel. The barrel has a pleasing amount of original blue mixed with a natural patina. The action functions properly and the bore is good. Accompanying this Winchester is a brass mold used for making clay target balls for use in trick shooting. It measures 8” Long and is made for a 2” clay target ball. It has been with this gun for many years and has a brand that uses the letters “J” and “E” overlapping and connected at the vertical lines. This is a very unique and very desirable Winchester that deserves more research. This Winchester is originally from the late Roy Gay Collection, avid East Texas Collector; From the 101 Ranch Collection of Buddy King of Canadian, Texas; PERSONAL PROPERTY of Harold Wieser; Price: $14,975 + $60 S&H; Price includes insured shipping; return policy: three days inspection from the date the item is received; full refund of shipping both ways ONLY IF THE ITEM IS MISREPRESENTED.
