Description:
Original and Gorgeous 75 Sporter with GROOVED receiver. 1951 mfg. Lyman 57ES peep. Blueing on receiver and barrel all of 95%. Bottom metal has some wear from mag well forward from being carried I suspect. Wood is highly fiqured and also in great finish condition with a few marks on butt near plate(see pic). The only FLAW in this gun is a hairline crack from the corner of the peep notchout down towards the magazine release.(see pic) I suspect this probably happened when peep was installed.Upon closer inspection of this crack from the inside I'm quite sure this crack was repaired quite some time ago as it is solid, possibly at factory to save this great piece of wood.I'm thinking this has been this way a long time and don't forsee it being an issue in this location. It's not even very noticeable unless you get the light on it right. Anyway, price is reflectant of crack. It's the nicest looking of the dozen or so on GI. And cheapest with grooved receiver. Has original 5rd. mag. Thanks for looking.
