DESCRIPTION: Winchester Model 71 Deluxe rifle, caliber 348 Winchester of course, having all of the correct Deluxe features, including 24" round barrel, 2/3 mag, checkered pistol grip butt stock with steel butt plate, checkered beavertail forearm, ramped front sight, open semi-buckhorn rear sight with thumb print elevator, deluxe sling swivels in butt stock and integral with fore end cap, later short tang and properly not drilled for the bolt peep but properly factory drilled for the side mount receiver sight, serial # 37xxx, made 1953.
CONDITION: Barrel and mag tube retain 95% original bright blue with some pinprick loss. Receiver retains 93% bright original blue with some pinprick loss and wear in the carry area on the underside. Stocks are sound with no splits or cracks, no extra holes, never sanded or refinished, retaining most of the original varnish with some bubbling and typical nicks/dings/scrapes from hunting use. Bore is a 9 of 10. Action is strong, half cock safety works as designed. Rifle has been cleaned, test-fired, shoots great, and is ready for action!! Ramped front sight still retains the original sight hood. Excellent example of a later Model 71 Deluxe that will serve the dual role as shooter as well as collector.
