Here we present what is likely a Neumann Freres Double Barrel Side by Side Shotgun, made at the turn of the 20th Century in Belgium. In his assembly process, he used the Henry Piper Breech design. Many of his firearms were shipped to the United States and sold under the Hibbard trade name at the Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Company stores in Chicago, Illinois in the early 1900s. The overall condition is very good. The action is strong. The smooth bore is shiny and smooth. “GOLD HIBBARD” can be clearly read on both locks. The underside of the barrel is littered with Belgian proof marks. This lightly engraved shotgun will surly find a place in any collection! This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic.
