Description:
This is a spectacular unfired and all-original nickel Smith & Wesson Model 29-2 .44 Magnum revolver with the original factory presentation case.  This minty beauty has a 8 & 3/8ths" inch pinned barrel, a six-shot fluted cylinder with counter-bored chambers, and exceptionally beautiful factory target grips.  The Smith & Wesson Model 29 is one of the firm's most iconic revolvers and is based on Smith & Wesson's "N" large frame size.  This handsome and intimidating revolver has an excellent reputation for being reliable, well-made, and accurate that goes back many years when it was introduced as a 5-screw pre-Model 29 .44 Magnum Hand Ejector.  This particular example is serial number N30733, making it's date of manufacture 1976.  It was bought new by the original owner and put into storage until now, never once carried afield or fired.  You can still see how every other chamber has been fired from the factory test-firing before being shipped.  The original factory nickel finish is like-new, mirror-bright, and rates 99%.  It was extremely hard to find anything worthy of a 1% deduction.  It looks like it just left the factory yesterday.  The bore is pristine and bright with perfect, sharp rifling and no visible imperfections whatsoever.  The six counter-bored chambers in the cylinder are equally as pristine.  All of the visible screw-heads are perfect and look un-turned.  The original Goncalo Alves target grips on this Model 29 are especially beautiful, showing more figure, color, and contrasting grain than most you will see.  They are in minty like-new condition and free from any wear, chips, cracks, or repairs.  The checkered panels and medallions on each grip are crisp and clean.  Both grips are perfectly fit to the gun and tight to the frame with zero wiggle.  The action on this Smith is butter-smooth, precise, and perfectly in-time.  You really have to feel it to truly appreciate how much time and effort were put into making this revolver mechanically perfect.  All of the controls are in perfect working order on this Model 29-2, and we have no doubt it would function 100% like-new. The original presenation case is in excellent overall condition, with the only deductions coming from two small cracks in the flocked blue inserts and a weak spring on the right side latch.  All of the tools it shipped with are in place and in excellent condition.   Sorry, no owner's manual.  If you have been looking for a truly investment-worthy Smith & Wesson Model 29 that would never need upgrading, this mint condition unfired factory nickel 8 & 3/8ths" Model 29-2 would be a perfect choice. They do not get any better than this!
