Description:
Rare Ballard single shot tip-up derringer in excellent condition. Only a few thousand of these derringers were manufactured and most found today are in quite worn condition. This very desirable collectable has 95% of the orginal finish with some scratchs and light frecking on right side of frame. Barrel is tight to frame and looks like it has never been fired. The 2 13/16" barrell is clearly marked: C.H. BALLARD & CO. WORCESTER MASS PAT'D JUNE 22 1869. Top of barrell marked BALLARD'S. The serial number 3733 is marked on underside of barrel, top of frame amd even on inside of right grip which is a darker color. It looks like this gun was laying on it's side for many years. The action is good and tight with both safety and full cocked positions. Very hard to find in this condition!
