Description:
This fine, well cared for Win Model 52B, S/N 49843 is excellent overall; built in 1941 with original finish Marksman stock and heavy barrel; rare vintage Witteck-Vaver iron sights. This rifle has been in my family since new in 1941; my father was a champion smallbore shooter and the rifle was passed along to me for my own competitive shooting and has been very carefully cared for all these years! This rifle was first year with the target syle Marksman stock and the optional heavy barrel. Overall condition is excellent; only minor marks/scratches on the original finish stock. A Freeland adjustable buttplate plus hook option and a Freeland slotted forend rail have been installed, along with an aluminum cheekpiece for better sight alignment. All metal is in excellent condition; blueing is excellent overall; trigger guard/floorplate has been reblued. Action has been professionally glass bedded; trigger is original Winchester, pull adjustable. Barrel is free-floating with an adjustable tension band in the forend; a single-shot follower is in the magazine well; safety is removed but will be included. Rear and front sights are vintage Witteck-Vaver; micrometer adjustable rear and a set of aperture inserts for the globe front (rear sight has been professionally overhauled and functions perfectly). Unertl scope blocks are mounted on the barrel (scope no longer available). Rifle still looks great....and is still a great shooter....just needs a new, appreciative, caring owner!
