Barrel has a light gray patina with spots of light pitting. Brass has a dark mustard color patina. St. Etienne marking is nice and clear below the hammer. St. Etienne was one of the three arsenals that made these pistols. Wood is very good. Belt clip is missing. The first American pistol made by North & Cheney were copy of the French 1777. Presumably some of these could have made their way to the revolutionary war efforts and most US Martial collectors substitute a French model 1777 for the North & Cheney. Nice gun! SOLD Antique: Yes |
