Description:
This is the original early lst model made starting mid 60's...this one is a 1970 rifle with correct Monte Carlo Stock and 24" barrel with half mag. Later models had shorter barrels and were made in many configureations but this is the one most sought by collectors.
All blued areas are excellent with just a couple of scuff marks on the barrel (easily touched up with cold blue) and show almost no wear or sign of use except as described. The handsome nice looking Monte Carlo Stock has a number of compression marks and some scrapes to the finsh, many of which might steam out. There are no non factory holes and it does not appear that a scope had ever been mounted (factory drilled for scope) and front and rear sites are both in place.
444 if loaded accordingly is capable of handling any game on the continent and in the world; for those who like a lever gun it would be a great gun for the big bears and Elk or Moose in the timber.
The Sling may well be the original sling that was shipped with this rifle back in 1970 when it was made
