The gun has the Augusta Arsenal rework stamp but it has never been reworked. Not parkerized and no A1 parts have ever been installed. The gun has had only one update. The grips were replaced with correct Colt U.S. 1937 style grips. Apparently it was in fine enough condition that they only fitted new grips and then put it back into service. The left side of the frame has a partially stamped correct upturned Eagle proof. The gun has retained about 98+% of the original Black Army finish. The only loss there is, is from some very slight sharp edge silvering, a few scattered pin pricks and a couple hairline scratches. There are no rust spots or rub marks. All parts are 100% correct for the serial number range.
The walnut checkered grips are super, almost perfect. The left panel does have 2 or 3 flattened points. The barrel is stamped with the correct P H for a Colt 1911. The bore is great, very bright with quite sharp rifling and just a touch of scattered frost. It comes with one correct WWI two tone magazine.
