Description:
***SOLD*** Smith & Wesson ".38 Chiefs Special" Pre-Model 36 .38spl revolver, dated to 1957. This is a late Pre-Model 36, made the last year before the gun was renamed the Model 36. It is essentially identical to a Model 36, without the model marking on the frame underneath the crane, and a flat cylinder latch. The pistol has a fine blued finish, with color case hardened hammer and trigger, as well as matching checkered stocks that are original to the gun. The pistol is also fitted with a S&W brand grip extension, making the gun much more ergonomic. The pistol is in excellent working order, and appears to have seen more carry than actual use. The bore and chamber surfaces are excellent. Please refer to the photos to further assess the condition of the pistol. A wonderful addition to your S&W collection, don't miss out!
