Description:
General Specs: Mauser, Year 1940-1942, 7x57, 8lbs 2oz, LOP 13 1/2"
Serial Number: 9772

What a fabulous, top-quality, custom rifle we have here, with premium materials and workmanship throughout.  Built on the highly desirable G33/40 small ring, lightweight Mauser 98 action that allows a reduction of weight while not sacrificing strength or accuracy.  For decades knowledgeable custom rifle makers have recognized that the G33/40 action always exhibited exceptional quality control that was present in the Brno, Czechoslavakia arms plant under German occupation from 1940 to 1942.  These actions were made for the mountain troops and had lightening cuts to reduce nearly a 1/4lb of weight compared to a standard 98 Mauser action.  There were very few of these actions produced and you will see few custom rifles with this action.  The magazine holds 5 rounds and the Blackburn bottom metal and trigger are amongst the best in the business.  The banded, hooded ramped front sight and island style adjustable rear sight are from New England Custom Arms…again, the very best.  The 7 x 57 Mauser cartridge is legendary for its accuracy and soft recoil and can accommodate bullets from 139gr. to 175gr. Then there is the history and nostalgia of the cartridge used by famous hunters like Bell and Corbett on elephant and man-eating tigers!  When contemplating spending serious money on a custom rifle you must take close look at the workmanship and materials that go into the final product.  The beautifully figured English walnut stock is meticulously inletted and shaped to perfection, with no gaps, filler, or flaws.  The action is glass-bedded and the barrel is free-floating for accuracy.  The shadow line cheek piece is elegant and functional, the checkering cut to perfection, and the steel pistol grip cap is a nice touch.  The leather covered pad sets the whole rifle off with grand aesthetics and useful purpose.  The 24” barrel has mirror shiny bore with sharp crisp rifling from muzzle to chamber.  This rifle has barely been fired.  There are a few marks on the left side of the stock below the safety, but not from field use.  My guess is this rifle never saw a hunt.  We have shot the rifle with available ammo she is a minute of angle rifle if you do your job.  It comes with a set of Talley bases and rings for your chosen optics.  We have priced this fine rifle to sell, so if you have always wanted a true, top-quality lightweight Mauser Custom rifle in not often seen 7 x 57 Mauser chambering (same as the .275 Rigby), this is your opportunity.  Thanks for looking!
