About Us: I have had great luck in my sales through "GUNS INTERNATIONAL". This is the only site I use and do not plan to change.

Description:
One of the rarest of the L. C. Smith shotguns. A three barrel gun of 12 x12 x 44 WCF. Only 1186 were made between 1877 and 1888. The  gun weighs 9 pounds and 4 ounces.Top rib marked "L. C. Smith Maker of Baker Gun Syracus N. Y. Stub Twist" All three bores are corroded, but there are no deep pits and the rifle barrel has strong rifling. The checkering on the forearm is well worn and the checkering on the wrist is well defined, but worn. The hole carved into the butt stock is a good example as to why guns should be confiscated from some people. No one that has seen the gun can come up with a logical reason for this modification. The wrist has a cross bolt, a typical modification for many L. C. Smith guns. The lock work is in good shape and functions properly. The gun locks up tight. This is the second model of this gun and I think it may be grade 2. The gun is opened by pusing the front trigger forward and the rifle barrel is fired with the rear trigger. You cock the left lock and then push the cocking button in the front of the trigger guard forward and the rifle barrel can then be fired. I have not tested the gun to see if the left shot barrel also fires, but I would think it wouldn't do so. I'll leave that mistery for the new owner. The pictures are part of the discription so look carefully. The barrels are 30 inches.
