Description:
Browning .22 Automatic rifle, Grade III, made approximately 1958. A desirable early production Browning Automatic featuring the bright "coin finish" metal and wheel rear sight.
It remains in 99% condition, and does not include any box or case. While the engraving is not signed (many wheel sight Grade III's were unsigned), the work is almost certainly from the hand of the renowed engraver Louis Vrancken. Please see the photo of the Vrancken engraved gun that is featured on page 79 of Homer Tyler's "Browning .22 Rifles" book and compare to this example.
